26TH PARIS ANTIQUE BIENNALE 2014. HIGH JEWELRIES NEVER HIGHER THAN THIS TIME!
It was incredible. I’ve been visiting the Biennale since 2010 and I’ve never seen this kind of high jewels. More important, more brave, more expensive, more expressive. And it was almost Richmont group’s show.
Starting with Cartier, From classical antique jewels to new creations, they used the maximum of stones. Clock with floating jewel in the water, Sautoir, watches and rings… Almost of them were already sold!(We could know because they put the stickers in the showcase).
Once again, Victoire De Castellane surprised us with her endless creativity in Dior. She took the motif from all existing Dior dress and transform in jewels. Bended, curved, draft shapes look like silk spangled texture. So smooth, so romantic, so beautiful. Dior confirmed themselves they are one of the most creative Jewelry brand in this moment.
Piaget was also great. This time they proposed the big and classical jewelries and jewelry watches. For my opinion, Piaget designs are very simple and modern so can be good for all generations.
Bulgari also sold big pieces during the Biennale. Their bold style doesn’t changed, and still keeping their own fantasy about the stones and creation motif even if it became one of LVHM group’s brand.
Chanel changed a lot. The jewels are still sensitive and feminine, but at the same time very geometric. Using onyx, ceramic or other materials with diamond, Chanel can get their iconic black and white effect. It is very interesting to see how they analyses the Camelia flower in geometric way.The high light of this Biennale was Giampiero Bodino. He is art director of Richmont group, and he launched his own brand ‘Giampiero Bodino’. It is the last high jewelry brand of Richmont group. All jewels are magnificent, bold, and important. He opened his office in Milan, Via Mozart(the most chic and rich street in Milan), and receive clients by appointment.
